Babies don't do this, right?

Cooper, our first rescued lab, is kept locked in a spacious, cushy laundry room for a reason. Fisher stays in there with him, for company. Zoe gets run of the house because she's old, and doesn't do anything but sleep, with the occasional poop.

Something happened today--the stars aligned--and Cooper & Fisher got out. I came home to the following photos. I'll be honest--I cried. The guilty party (Cooper) has his mug shot in there as well. It's not like I can just patch them up, give them a good clean, and all will be right with the world! This is the second pair of fuzzy boots he has destroyed...my favorite red shoes...one of Greg's favorite pairs...he had to go into the dark closet, pull them out, carry them elsewhere, and then chew. He is on the couch now, where his mug shot was taken, and he keeps looking at me out of the corner of his eye. He is SO guilty, and he knows it.

I can clean up baby spitup...paint can cover marker on walls...but I can't replace shoes!

The clothes are from Fisher...he just drags them around, minimal chewing.

For the record...Cooper's up to about 20 pairs of shoes he's destroyed in the 4 years we've had him.
