Cute and Disturbing

The secretaries at my school are border line obsessed with me having twins (for the record, I'm not). And this lady brought her twin infants into school today, and they purposely pulled me out of class to go see them (and catch the twin bug or something, I don't know).

The mama of the twins also babysits a 3-year-old. He was asking me if I had any babies. Here was our conversation:

Kid: You got any babies?
Me: Well, I have one in my belly.
Kid: (Now with enormous frightened eyes): You can't eat babies!!
Me: No no, it's growing in there.
Kid: (Big eyes again): Well you gotta get it outta there!
Me: It will come out in a few months. Don't worry.
Kid: No, you gotta do it yourself.
Me: And how am I going to do that?
Kid: (Points to his mouth) You just gotta take it outta your mouf.

Two hours after this conversation, my cheerleaders had a chicken wing party for me (I informed them that chicken wings are my big-time craving, and they got some fantastic wings from some west side place called Wild Mike's). Anyway, at the chicken wing party, they informed me that one of my former French I students, who has fallen in with the wrong boyfriend, is now due right around the same time as me. Sigh. I remember my cheerleading coach in high school went to apply for her wedding license, and saw one of her former students (who had just graduated) also applying for hers. So my feelings were probably similar to something she felt. Except this is a kid having a kid. Big big sigh.

As for me and the baby and the pregnancy, we are now officially in week 15, we are feeling GOOD, and we aren't eating like food is going out of style, so hopefully those 13 pounds will plateau for a month or so. :o) I very much appreciate all of the "You look fabulous" comments, even if I don't feel it (or maybe even really look it). :o) And I don't want to post any pictures until there really is a baby belly--chicken wing belly just isn't really the same. :o) Something tells me we should be popping out really soon--after all, the baby is the size of an orange by the end of this week! I'm loving the fruit references...I guess that makes the whole watermelon thing true come month 9. :o)
