So after the shake test again today @ PBK (I just laughed this time), we decided we'd head to Babies-R-Us. There's only one in town at Cincinnati Mills, and we were a tad apprehensive of what we'd find.
Well we found a crib. Not only is it nailed-to-the-floor sturdy, it is half the cost of the one @ PBK (and, in my opinion, more "us"). But that's not all we found...talk about overwhelming! There was, among other absurd quantities of things, an entire WALL of pacifiers!! Suddenly, reading about all the symptoms I should be feeling, and how the baby is growing seemed like the wrong things to be reading! I need to read stroller reviews! Car seat reviews! High chair reviews! And pacifier reviews!!
Also befuddling: bedding. Where are the lines among cutesy, tacky, and sophisticated? Can I get cute and sophisticated? There certainly is a surplus of tacky. I'll need to keep hunting.
We aren't planning on registering. I suppose I should give that heads up now. We've had lots of family offer to take care of big ticket items, and I think that at whatever showers there are, I'd prefer gifts that moms know moms need. That shall be the theme, I think. :o) I also am in love with etsy.com, and am finding fabulous items for baby on there. An "etsy" shower could be fun as well.
As for the shopping title, I haven't purchased anything but some prints for the nursery (on etsy, thank you Jen!). But once we find out what the little orange is...oh boy (or girl!). :o)
